Volcarona

Volcarona

As the bug gym leader this is one of my favourite pokemon of all time. The Bug/Fire type pokemon Volcarona.

Looking at Volcarona, we can see that this is a pokemon which can be used very easily with a little practice. Like all bug type pokemon, it is hard to use but once you do figure it out, it's a pokemon which you will never want to leave behind.

Type

Volcarona is a Bug/Fire type pokemon. It is weak to the types; Flying and Water. A Rock type move however will do 4 time the base damage to Volcarona and it also has a weaker defence stat making it very vulnerable to a rock type pokemon. Volcarona is strong against; Fighting, Bug, Steel and Ice. It also resists Grass moves by 4 times meaning a Grass type move will only do a quarter of the base damage.

Stats

Volcarona has a base stat of 550. As a normal pokemon, this is quite high but of cause not as high as a Dragonite or a Tyranatar. Volcarona has a Sp. Attack stat of 135, this is very high and can be used with Quiver Dance in order to make this go through the roof.

Basic Infomation

  1. Volcarona evolves from Larvesta at level 59.
  2. Volcarona learns it's last move at level 100, Fiery Dance. Volcarona learns a new move every 10 levels and Fiery Dance also has a STAB (Same Type Added Bonus). It has a 50% chance of raising the Sp. Attack stat and has a power of 80.
  3. A shiny Volcarona has a purple body and yellow wings.
  4. Volcarona is ウルガモス (urugamosu) in Japanese

Your Soul Die2Nite Run Through

So, you've played the game and you have an idea of whats what. You want to know how you rank and what your score is. This is shown in the screen known as "My Soul".

I'm not a hero?

So you clicked your soul, you've saved people and killed zombies but... You have a weak soul?! Thats fine when I did this myself I was really angry. What you realise very quickly is that a hero's soul is a soul which belongs to a paying member, if your not paying your "weak".

What's going on?

So you have a simple set up, your soul is on the right telling you if your a paying member or not. On the left you have a small section that gives your name, picture and other things about you. Underneath that is your score. If it seems very low, relax it only updates after every death you have. Points will come from certain achievements and you just need to keep playing the game, living longer and longer and before you know it, you'll be swimming in points.

Die2Nite Intro

So, you've found yourself stuck in the world of the undead. You're in a town with limited water supply, no food and all you have is a sleeping bag. It's Day 1 and if you're lucky (or unlucky however you want to luck at it) there will be 40 people in the town with you. At midnight the Horde will come and you're going to have to defend yourselves.

So, lets do the very basics shall we?

It's day one, start by getting your water ration of the day. You can get this by clicking the "well" section on the left hand side. Once you have this water ration you can restore your AP or Action Points to full 6/6 when they have been depleted. First things first click on your "Home" tab on the left hand screen again. Click the tab building upgrades and upgrade your bed sheet to a tent. This has a +1 defence bonus.

So, you have your tent up, now what?

It's time to go exploring outside of the town. Before you even consider going outside, make sure you have at least 4/6 AP and you have a water ration. When your ready, click the tab "The Town Gates", now click "Go Outside". You can now venture outside and you can use the right hand section of the screen to do this. If you get trapped by zombies, you're likely going to die. All you can do is use your remaining AP to make the area a good place to sleep. Use the tiny section at the top of the right hand screen to do this. Once your out of you main AP, return home or Camp. If you do neither of these, your dead. If you camp and it's not very good, your dead.

Dragonite

Dragonite

So today I'm going to be doing a quick pokemon review of the pokemon Dragonite.

So looking at the very basics of the Pokemon Dragonite, we can instantly see some factors for owning one and against owning one.

Type

For starters Dragonite is a Dragon/Flying type pokemon. This means that it is weak to Rock and Dragon types and weak to Ice to the point it takes 4 times the base damage. However Dragonite is also strong against;
Fire, Water, Grass, Fighting, Bug and takes no damage at all from a Ground type move.

So thats the Type out of the way, Dragonite has a weakness to very few types but the Ice type pokemon are ones to watch out for. Having completed this lets have a look at Dragonites Stats.

Stats

Dragonite is one of the strongest non-uber pokemon. It's has a base stat of 600 with 134 of those being in it's attack. Dragonite therefore is a tank, it can take hits but can just as easily dish them out. One thing to be very wary of here though, Dragonite has much of it's stats put into Attack. In Generation III pokemon games, Dragon moves were of the Sp. Attack stat. So if you want to use one in games like Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Firered or Leafgreen your going to have to find a way around this.

Basic Information

  1. Dragonite evolves from Dragonair at level 55, Dragonair evolves from Dratini at level 30.
  2. Dragonite learns it's last move at level 81, Hurricane, it's base damage is 120, accuracy is 70. Hurricane is a flying type move.
  3. A shiny Dragonite has a green body and pink wings.
  4. Dragonite is カイリュ (kairyu) in Japanese.
